Full job description

NOV’s Energy Products and Services team is driving innovation across well construction and renewable energy markets. As part of a cross-functional and multi-discipline team, the Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing quality assurance and quality control processes for industrial manufacturing operations.

This role will be responsible for AS9100 QMS requirements and ensure products, materials, and processes meet internal standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Onsite presence is required.

Design and implement quality control processes, sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques.

Develop or specify inspection and testing methods, equipment, and mechanisms.

Analyze production capabilities, limitations, and quality standards to improve performance and reliability.

Recommend revisions to specifications, procedures, and quality standards when necessary.

Develop and maintain quality control policies, procedures, and documentation.

Support the financial evaluation and cost-effectiveness of quality control programs when required.

Create sampling procedures, forms, and reporting methods for recording and evaluating quality and reliability data.

Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production, testing, and measurement equipment.

Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation to ensure compliance with customer, vendor, and company requirements.

Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to analyze production data and monitor process performance.

Review purchased materials and components and provide recommendations regarding product acceptance and supplier performance.

Prepare reports summarizing quality activities, findings, and corrective actions.

Present technical and program information to team members and management.

Provide direction and support to personnel involved in quality-related activities.

Maintain working knowledge of government regulations and industry quality standards.

Follow all company safety, quality, and HSE policies and procedures.

Ensure all areas of responsibility comply with company and departmental safety requirements.

Maintain the highest standards of product quality and workmanship.

Support productivity goals for assigned departments and personnel.

Promote positive team morale and collaboration within assigned groups.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing or operational quality-related environment.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.

Working knowledge of API Spec Q1 and ISO 9000 quality standards.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn additional software systems.

Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekends when required.

Knowledge of ABS and DNV requirements for drilling equipment.

Functional and technical expertise in manufacturing quality systems

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, climb, and reach.

Frequently required to use hands and finger dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and computers.

Ability to communicate effectively through spoken and written communication.

Regularly required to work around machinery and industrial equipment.

Must be able to view computer screens, read technical documents, and inspect equipment visually.
