T h e pe r son sh o uld have h ands - on expe r ience with p r ocess develop m ent a n d be well ve r sed in m echanic a l enginee r ing or m a t e r ials science as well as with a u to m at e d equip m ent in a high - volu m e m anu f actu r ing envi r o n m en t . He or she sh o uld be a dept in a uto m a ted eq u i p m ent, such as b u t not li m i t ed to, optical device alignm e nt, pick and place, fiber attach, flip chip asse m bly, th e rm o co m p r ession b o nding, fl e x ci r cuit int e r conn e ct techn o l o gies such as u - flex, o r pick a n d place m achines with adhesive d i s p ensing ca p ability; Design of E xp e r i m e n ts ( DO E ) , F ailu r e M ode E ff e cts A n alysis ( F M E A ) , in n ovative da t a r e d uction, a n d statistical a n alysis.

Responsibilities
- Devel o p, cha r acte r iz e , and q u alify m a n ufactu r ing p r ocesses f r om co n cept th r ough d evelop m ent and t r a n sfer to m an u factu r i n g, inclu d i n g specifying and p r ocuri n g r e q ui r ed e quip m e nt, p r ocess flow, p r ocess d evelop m ent/ve r ification, a n d qualificati o n plan
- Desig n , execute, and a n alyze expe r i m en t s th r o u gh DOE and sta t i s t i c a l techniqu e s using statistical tools
- Design tooling and fixturing for assigned processes.
- Set up and conduct process checks and complete process documentation for assigned processes to be successfully transitioned from Development into Manufacturing
- Lead and perform Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) techniques as part of process characterization and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) plans
- Train technicians and oversee equipment calibration and maintenance scheduling
- Develop all required documentation for processes that transfer to manufacturing
Qualifications
- B S d egr e e in E nginee r ing with 3 t o 6 yea r s of expe r ience or M S d e g r ee i n E n g ineeri n g, 0 to 4 years of expe r ience
- De m onst r ated a b i lity t o independently initiate, p r io r itiz e , and d r ive p r ojects to co m pletion
- A bility to ef f ectively co m m unicate ideas, co n cepts, and r esults to b o th highly t e chnical and non- t echnical co - wo r ke r s within cross-functional teams
