About this Role

FiberTel is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic for our Sacramento, CA location.

The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic will be responsible for traveling to our job sites in California and performing diagnostics and repairs on our heavy equipment and fleet trucks. The preferred applicant will have vast experience in the industry, able to do about anything needed to fix all aspects of equipment like skid steers, mini's, excavators, dozers, plows and such. This includes things like electrical, engines, hydraulics, welding, etc

We will provide a service truck and specialized tools. Must have your own basic tools.

Pay: $40-60/hr, DOE

What You'll Do Position Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy equipment
  • Travel to job sites all around California
  • Perform engine repairs and maintenance
  • Perform safety inspections
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair transmission systems
  • Make necessary repairs to hydraulic and air brakes
  • Repair and maintain HVAC systems
  • Make electrical repairs
  • Perform oil changes as needed
  • Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment
What You'll Bring Position Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in heavy equipment mechanic work
  • Computer skills including things like word, and excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to manage a schedule and organize time
  • Willing to travel out of state (60%)
  • Experience with heavy diesel repair and maintenance
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs
  • Knowledge of fuel systems; both diesel and gas
  • Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using a scanner
  • Welding Experience
  • Experience with Ford 6.7 Diesel and GM 6.6 Duramax (Preferred)
  • Safety Inspection certified (Preferred)
  • Management experience (Preferred)
  • Class A CDL (Highly Preferred)
  • Diesel mechanic certified (Required)

Driver's License (Required)
  • Diesel Mechanic Certification or equivalent experience

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $40.00/Hr. - USD $60.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
