The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, calibrating, and packaging products to meet quality and customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the flexibility to support warehouse operations as needed to meet production and delivery schedules. A commitment to continuous improvement is also essential.
Compensation for this position is $23-28 per hour based on experience.
- Assemble fabricated components, wiring, and subassemblies into finished products.
- Calibrate, test, and inspect products to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
- Use hand tools and follow established assembly procedures and work instructions.
- Package finished products according to customer orders and department standards.
- Support warehouse operations during periods of lower assembly demand.
- Meet production and delivery deadlines, including overtime when required.
- Safely operate powered industrial equipment, when authorized.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and perform frequent bending, twisting, climbing, and standing.
- Follow all Granite City Electric health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Immediately report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
- Promote a safe working environment for yourself and your coworkers.
- Previous work experience in assembly or the electrical or related field.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
