Full job description

- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders based on production schedules and customer requirements

- Monitor supplier confirmations, shipment status, and delivery performance

- Expedite orders and coordinate recovery plans when shortages or supplier delays threaten production

- Maintain appropriate inventory levels while balancing production needs, supplier lead times, and inventory objectives

- Communicate material shortages and delivery risks to Planning and Operations

- Adjust purchase orders as production schedules and material requirements change

- Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, lead-time, and purchasing information within the ERP/MRP system

- Assist with receiving discrepancies, inventory variances, cycle counts, and purchase order issues

- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered

- Around 3 years of purchasing, material planning, or manufacturing support experience preferred

- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment is a plus

- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, inventory, and material planning; JD Edwards experience preferred

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and basic data analysis

- Working knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, supplier scheduling, and material planning

- Ability to work with purchase documentation, specifications, bills of material, and basic engineering drawings

- APICS/ASCM, CPSM, CPIM, or similar certifications are a plus
