Full job description

Position Overview As an Engineering Project Manager - MEP , you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing engineering scopes for large-scale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects. You will work closely with owners, consultants, engineers, trade partners, vendors, and construction teams to ensure MEP systems are designed, coordinated, procured, installed, commissioned, and delivered successfully.

This role serves as the bridge between engineering and construction execution, ensuring technical requirements are translated into practical, constructible solutions. Success requires strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders while supporting project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, budget, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead MEP engineering coordination efforts throughout planning, design, construction, commissioning, and project turnover.

- Manage technical deliverables, design reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination between mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and architectural teams.

- Review MEP drawings, specifications, submittals, calculations, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.

- Support constructability reviews, value engineering initiatives, and technical solution development during preconstruction and project execution.

- Coordinate with equipment suppliers, design consultants, contractors, and commissioning teams to support successful system integration.

- Identify technical risks, design conflicts, and execution challenges while developing practical solutions that support project objectives.

What You'll Do

- Manage MEP engineering activities for hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.

- Facilitate collaboration between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.

- Lead technical reviews of HVAC, cooling, electrical distribution, backup power, fire protection, and building systems documentation.

- Support project planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution strategies related to critical MEP systems.

- Monitor technical performance, project progress, and stakeholder requirements to support successful project delivery.

- Serve as a trusted technical resource for clients, project teams, and construction leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

What It Takes

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 5+ years of engineering, MEP project management, or construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Experience managing MEP engineering scopes on data center, mission-critical, industrial, healthcare, utility, or large commercial construction projects.

- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems associated with complex facilities.

- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, BIM models, and technical documentation.

- Familiarity with MEP coordination processes, commissioning activities, and turnover requirements.

- Experience supporting design reviews, constructability analysis, procurement planning, and technical issue resolution.

- Familiarity with CAD and BIM platforms, including Navisworks, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar engineering and coordination tools.

- Experience with Procore or similar project and construction management software preferred.

- Professional Engineer (PE), EIT certification, commissioning experience, or data center experience is preferred but not required.

- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder groups.

- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

- Ability to travel up to 50% and support onsite project assignments as required.
