Experience: 3+ years
- Support the initiation and processing of federal personnel security investigations and reinvestigations. - Determine the appropriate level of investigation based on position designation requirements. - Conduct preliminary record checks within the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Central Verification System (CVS) to verify reciprocity and investigative eligibility. - Initiate and manage electronic background investigations through the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) eApp system. - Assist applicants with NBIS eApp access, troubleshooting, and application completion. - Review investigation packages for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal security requirements. - Conduct National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS) inquiries. - Perform credit checks and other required investigative activities in support of personnel security determinations. - Determine whether additional inquiries are necessary to resolve discrepant, contradictory, or adverse information. - Fingerprint applicants and employees in accordance with federal security procedures. - Maintain sensitive personnel security records while ensuring compliance with applicable privacy and security regulations. - Coordinate with government personnel, contractors, and other federal agencies throughout the personnel security process. - Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to prepare reports, maintain records, and support daily administrative operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. - Minimum of three (3) years of specialized experience as a Personnel Security Assistant or in a closely related personnel security role. - Minimum of three (3) years of experience initiating and reviewing NBIS eApp (electronic application) investigations. - Minimum of three (3) years of experience conducting NCIC and NLETS inquiries and performing credit checks. - Experience supporting federal personnel security investigation processes. - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. - Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. - Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of accuracy and discretion. - Must be a U.S.
Citizen. - Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a High-Risk Public Trust (Tier 4) Background Investigation.
- Bachelor's degree. - Experience with Personnel Security Process Management. - Experience preparing investigative reports and supporting personnel security documentation. - Previous experience supporting a federal government personnel security office.

Hourly Rate: $33 - $36 per hour, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
