Full job description

Job Purpose: Our Product Manager will have full ownership of various product categories and will be responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and execution plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of product and vendor management including: strategy, programs to create demand, financials, cross functional and vendor relationships, product selection, negotiation and deal closure.
  • Manage the financials including sales results, item lifecycle, returns, margins, program dollars, terms and conditions, and corporate goals, supported by Finance Team.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned product line.
  • Analyze product category performance and make decisions to maximize sales performance as well as income performance.
  • Develop product plans and strategy to stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment with overall plans, program direction, and needed actions.
  • Create, manage and track product promotions.
  • Own the cost management process including negotiations, vendor compliance, and system implementation.
  • Review and approve requests for new items to be added to product offering and ensures vendor selection is appropriate and profitability metrics are met based on guidelines.
  • Manage the quality and performance of assigned products by use of a Supplier Vendor Scorecard Manage detailed projects across many departments within the organization. Additional Responsibilities &

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field. 5-10 years of experience in Category Management, Merchandising, Sourcing, Product Management, or Commercial Strategy within large-scale B2B distribution or manufacturing environments. Experience owning senior and executive supplier relationships; optimizing portfolio assortments; leading major contract negotiations; and serving as the category source of truth for market, competitive, and industry insights strongly preferred.

Proven ability to operate as a category P&L owner and lead through influence at enterprise scale is highly preferred. Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework. Work Experience:

  • 5-10 years of related job experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Basic experience of simple office/operational systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
  • Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.
  • Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.
  • Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
  • Strong planning and organization skills are required. Education:
