Freelance Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a Freelance Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in digital analytics and web data collection to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience implementing and optimizing analytics solutions while ensuring accurate, scalable, and reliable data collection across digital platforms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, validate, and improve analytics implementations that support business insights and data-driven decision-making.

- Engagement Type: W2 or 1099 (depending on your worker classification).

- Implement, configure, and maintain Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) solutions.

- Design and optimize event tracking strategies and digital measurement frameworks.

- Validate, troubleshoot, and maintain analytics implementations to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

- Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics teams to define tracking requirements and measurement solutions.

- Support debugging and tag implementation using JavaScript when needed.

- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, tracking performance, and reporting capabilities.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Strong hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM).

- Experience implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting web analytics and tagging solutions.

- Solid understanding of event tracking, digital measurement, and data collection strategies.

- Experience validating and optimizing analytics implementations across web applications.

- Familiarity with JavaScript for tag implementation, debugging, and troubleshooting.

- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Professional English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 6+ years of equivalent professional experience.

This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico, and Hawaii, USA.

The salary range for this position is as listed below. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the actual salary ranges for current and former employees who are either currently filling a similar role or did in the past; the candidate's depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations; the market demand for that role and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based.
