Full job description

The Director, Luxury Intelligence leads the intelligence capability that supports Marriott International's Luxury Group across brands, customers, competitors and commercial strategy. Working within the Customer Domain inside Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI, the Director partners closely with Luxury leadership, partner disciplines, and continent teams to translate data and research into insight that informs enterprise decision-making.

The role delivers analytical depth across the Luxury customer landscape, the competitive environment, and the commercial and distribution channels that shape performance. The Director is expected to bring both analytical rigor and business judgment, communicate complex findings clearly to senior audiences, and build strong working relationships across a matrixed organization.

This is a leadership role within a growing function, offering the opportunity to contribute to how Marriott builds and applies customer and market intelligence in one of its most strategically important segments.

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in analytics, intelligence, strategy, or a closely related field, with demonstrated ability to build subject-matter expertise quickly in a complex domain.
  • Demonstrated quantitative rigor and ability to translate complex analysis into clear, decision-useful narratives for senior audiences.
  • Prior experience in luxury hospitality, luxury retail, private banking, luxury goods, or luxury travel distribution (e.g., Amex Platinum / Centurion, Virtuoso, Fine Hotels & Resorts).
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders in environments where business context, judgment, and differing viewpoints shape decisions.
  • Experience within an enterprise-level intelligence, insights, or strategy function that integrates multiple analytical disciplines (e.g., customer segmentation, lifetime value, and commercial performance).
  • Intellectual courage and comfort holding an informed position in the face of differing views.
  • Genuine curiosity about customers, competitors, and markets.
  • Strong collaborator who works well within a team and brings a clear point of view while remaining open to being convinced by better arguments.
  • Leads the Luxury Intelligence capability within the Customer Domain, proactively delivering insight across customer, competitive, commercial, and distribution dimensions.
  • Positions the function as a strategic thought partner to the Luxury Group from the ideation stage of key business questions.
  • Owns the enterprise Luxury Intelligence narrative and connects Luxury-specific insight to broader enterprise decisions.
  • Partners with Luxury leadership, partner disciplines including Commercial, and continent teams to shape and prioritize the intelligence agenda.
  • Calibrates expectations with stakeholders on scope, timelines, and confidence levels, and reframes requests to surface the highest-value questions and their second-order implications.
  • Delivers the analytical framework supporting the Luxury Commercial Strategy, spanning performance measurement, customer intelligence, distribution and channel economics, and hotel-level accountability.
  • Applies bottom-up, market-by-market rigor to competitive and market intelligence for the Luxury hospitality landscape.
  • Establishes luxury customer segmentation and lifetime value framing across HNW, UHNW, aspirational, corporate, and redemption cohorts, integrating this work into the enterprise customer intelligence discipline.
  • Develops distribution intelligence across wholesale, travel advisors, GSO, consortia, and bank programs, quantifying incrementality and net revenue impact.
  • Develops a rigorous point of view on how owners perceive Luxury brands and portfolio strategy, informing enterprise decisions where owner perspective is influential.
  • Develops the analytical approach for emerging Luxury lines of business, including The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, as data and capacity allow.
  • Contributes to Luxury Voice of Customer and Luxury customer journey intelligence in partnership with the relevant Customer Domain leads.
  • Applies the Customer Domain operating principles in day-to-day work: rigorous single-slide storytelling, disciplined prioritization, and effective partnership with Agile delivery teams.
  • Manages and develops direct reports; attracts, retains, and coaches talent.
  • Serves as the face of Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI for the Luxury Group and operates as a trusted, senior counterpart to leadership across the discipline.
