Work Flexibility: Hybrid Join a team developing embedded software for advanced electromechanical medical devices within Stryker's Orthopaedic Instruments business. In this role, you will contribute to software systems that power surgical technologies used by orthopedic surgeons worldwide while partnering across software, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines.
You will support the development of innovative medical devices throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through verification, launch, and post-market enhancements. What You Will Do Design and develop embedded software for medical device applications and electromechanical surgical systems. Translate customer, user, and system requirements into software designs and implementation plans.
Own the design, coding, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of software modules for embedded systems. Contribute across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, verification, validation, launch, and post-market support. Conduct technical investigations, evaluate design alternatives, and resolve complex software and system-level issues.
Develop and maintain software documentation, including requirements, architecture, design, test, and defect records. Collaborate with engineering, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, clinical, marketing, and project management teams to support product development activities. Review code and apply software engineering standards, best practices, and quality processes to deliver reliable software solutions.
What You Will Need Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Minimum 4 years of professional software engineering experience in an embedded systems environment.
Preferred Qualifications Experience developing software for embedded systems using C, C++, and/or Python. Experience configuring, debugging, and supporting microcontroller-based hardware systems. Experience with software quality assessment techniques, including static analysis, dynamic analysis, memory management, and code coverage.
Experience with software verification and validation methodologies, requirements management, and traceability practices. Experience using software development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jira, Visual Studio Code, Arm Keil, STM32Cube, or similar platforms. Experience developing automated test frameworks, verification tools, or supporting engineering test laboratories and test infrastructure. $102,600 - $171,000 USD Annual Travel Percentage: 10% Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.

- You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite
- Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.
Hybrid
- You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
