Responsibility for providing monthly and quarterly ESG analytics and data to investment teams and clients
Contribute to client meetings and presentations on Barings EGS capabilities
Develop ESG portfolio overlay strategies to support client objectives such as decarbonization mandates, including analysing impacts on the market opportunity set.
Build and improve analytical tools, dashboards and screens, to better incorporate ESG analytics into the investment process.
Liaise with data vendors over data issues and incorporating new data sets.
Partner with data, technology, and platform teams to improve data quality and automate recurring analytics.
Qualifications
Degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
2+ years of relevant experience in an ESG data role, ideally at an ESG vendor or asset manager.
Demonstrated ability to work with and manipulate large ESG datasets.
Ability to interpret and explain portfolio ESG metrics to investment teams as well as to less technical audiences.
Ability to work functionally with data and code, such as Python, SQL, PowerBI, Excel or comparable tools, to analyse data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ESG concepts clearly and confidently.
Demonstrated judgment, intellectual curiosity, ownership mindset, and ability to independently drive analysis from problem definition through stakeholder communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with buy-side risk and portfolio analytics platforms, such as Aladdin, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, MSCI ESG Manager or comparable tools.
Working towards or interest in pursuing CFA, CFA sustainable investment certificate or other industry qualification.
