Press Helper

- Responsible for removing, flexing, jogging, stacking and/or packaging printed products or folded signatures from web printing press, sheeters, folders, and placing on pallets or skids for removal to other areas.

- Adjusts proper speed on delivery belts at cutter to prevent jam up.

- Remove and install plate and blanket guards as instructed by Pressman.

- Responsible for cleaning press and press components to maintain web printing press in working order when press is down.

- Monitors equipment for operational problems and discards scrap printed material.

- Inspects printed product for dry-ups and/or print quality.

- Read and understand job instructions on the job ticket and run sheet.

- Maintains work area to be free of paper scraps, dust and unacceptable printed products.

- Assists Third Pressman in activities as assigned to develop working knowledge of the position for possible promotion.

- Must be able to walk or stand for entire work shift (8 or 12 hours).

- Must be able to push/pull up to 2200 pounds on hand lift truck.

- May be exposed to hot/humid and/or dusty work environment.

- May be exposed to controlled non-toxic chemical mists or vapors.
