The 5th Grade Science Teacher is responsible for supporting students' success by ensuring the school day structure runs efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students. We are currently seeking a teacher to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, in line with the mission and standards of Belmont Charter Network.
This is a 10-month position that is supervised by a member of the school leadership team.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Execute school-wide duties in accordance with school rules and procedures, such as lunch, recess, hallway, or other duties in the school as assigned.
- Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
- All employees must be able to provide a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check Clearance (Act 34), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Federal Bureau of Investigation Record Check Clearance (Act 114), and Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Clearance (Act 168) before starting work on campus
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
- Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls, and answer emails.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations as directed.
