As a CPU Performance Analysis Engineer, you will be working on CPU performance analysis and tuning, projecting CPU roadmap performance, workload characterization and thread-level behavioral modeling, workload tracing, and performing competitive performance analysis using industry standard benchmarks and workloads.
* Collect CPU performance data for various workloads and benchmarks
* Conduct detailed workload characterization on silicon and performance simulators
* Profile workload execution and develop single-threaded and multi-threaded behavior models of industry standard benchmarks
* Develop tools and techniques to project SOC benchmark performance using CPU performance simulator and analytical characterization models
* Prepare benchmark projections for roadmap and competitive CPU / SOC comparison and analysis
* Present the competitive performance data in a concise manner
* Proficiency in C / C++ / x86, ARM compatible assembly language
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in one or more system architecture technology areas and products (e.g., Power System, Shared Resource Management, Limits/Thermal Management, Hardware Islands).
* Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering / Science with 10+ years of relevant work experience
* Experience with hardware performance profiling tools (such as Vtune, perf), binary instrumentation tools (such as DynamoRio, PIN)
* Experience with characterizing industry standard benchmarks (e.g. CPU2017, GeekBench, AnTuTu, Speedometer) and workloads such as Memcached, NGINX, Redis, DCPerf
* Experience in writing micro-benchmarks to measure performance characteristics of a CPU / SoC
* Prior experience in developing trace collection tools and using same to trace workloads to feed the CPU performance simulators
* Experience with CPU performance simulators / analytical models
* Experience in OS internals (Windows / Linux / Android), system programming and Compilers (GCC, LLVM, JIT)
* Knowledge of the competitive landscape, feature specifications and industry trends in the server and client domain
