Experience: 3+ years
Vuori is looking for a Director, Merch & Product Analytics to lead one of three analytics pods in our Data & Analytics organization. This pod is the analytical engine behind how we plan, buy, allocate, and sell product. You will own the analytic products for merchandising, planning, allocation, assortment, inventory, and supply chain — partnering directly with the leaders of those functions and shaping how they make decisions.
This is a lead role, not a contributor role. You will own the roadmap for the pod, run the operating cadence, manage the people and consultants in the pod, and be accountable for outcomes across a portfolio of products and initiatives.
We need someone with deep apparel, footwear, or DTC retail experience who has supported merchandising, planning & supply chain functions and understands how these businesses run — pre-season, in-season, post-season — across wholesale, retail, and ecomm channels. You should be fluent in the analytical and technical side of the work, collaborating with functional leaders and their teams in driving best in class analytic solutions.
We want someone who leads through collaboration and builds teams people want to be part of. You listen first, ask sharp questions, and bring partners along rather than working around them. You invest in relationships across functions — earning trust with merchants, planners, and tech peers, so the work compounds over time.
- 10+ years of experience in analytics, planning, or merchandising roles within apparel, footwear, or branded DTC consumer goods, with at least 3 years in a people leadership capacity - Deep domain expertise across two or more of: merchandise planning, demand forecasting, allocation, assortment planning, inventory management, OTB, supply chain and S&OP, and channel planning (retail, ecom, wholesale) - Track record of enbaling analytics products that business leaders adopt and rely on - not just one-off reports, but durable products with clear ownership and measurable impact - Experience leading mixed teams of FTEs and consultants, including offshore capacity, with the judgment to know when to insource vs. partner - Proven ability to operate with leadership - credible, composed, and able to push back when needed without losing the room - Working knowledge of supply chain operations end to end - sourcing, inbound logistics, DC and 3PL operations, and omni inventory flow - enough to ask the right questions of supply chain leaders and design analytics that match how the business actually runs - Fluency with the modern data stack: Snowflake, dbt or SQLMesh, a major BI platform (MicroStrategy, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI), and exposure to planning tools - Hands on experience scoping and applying AI or ML to merchandising or planning problems.
You do not need to build models yourself, but you need to know what is feasible and how to partner technically. - Strong written and verbal communication. You can write a one page memo that lands with a leadership and run a working session with cross functional teams. - A teaching instinct and a track record of developing people.
The team you leave should be stronger than the team you joined. - Comfort with AI productivity tools in your own workflow
