The Data Engineering team is responsible for the data ecosystem within BlackRock, building high-performance data pipelines, enabling data discovery and consumption, and continually evolving data storage capabilities. As a Data Platform DevOps Engineer in Software Engineering, you will help build, operate, and improve the cloud-native infrastructure that supports Aladdin’s Enterprise Data Platform. You will contribute to scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for data processing, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and developer self-service capabilities. This hands-on engineering role focusesonautomation,platformreliability,observability,andcontinuousimprovementofproductionsystemsthatsupportcriticaldataplatformcapabilities.

Yourresponsibilities

IneveryroleatBlackRock,you'llbeexpectedtoapplysoundjudgementandcriticalthinkingtosolvecomplexproblems,adaptasthebusinessevolves,andembracethecuriositytoexplorenewapproachesandtechnologieswhilechallengingoutcomes.Thescopeofthisrolealsoincludesthefollowingresponsibilities:

• Support the deployment, automation, and operation of cloud-native infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and modern containerorchestrationplatformsacrosspublicandprivatecloudenvironments.
• Partnerwithengineeringteamstoenhanceplatformsecurity,scalability,reliability,networking,accessmanagement,andoperationalefficiency.
• Buildandimprovedeploymentautomation,Git-baseddeliveryworkflows,andoperationaltoolingusingmoderncontinuousintegrationandcontinuousdelivery(CI/CD)andscriptingpractices.
• Developself-serviceplatformcapabilitieswhilesupportingobservability,incidentresponse,andproductionoperations.
• Contributetoplatformreliabilitythroughperformanceoptimization,capacityplanning,andclearoperationaldocumentation.

Yourexperience

• Demonstratedabilitytobuild,operate,andsupportcloud-nativeplatforms,infrastructureautomation,orsitereliabilityengineeringpractices,supportedbyrelevanteducationorequivalentpracticalexperienceandfamiliaritywithmajorcloudplatforms.
• Hands-onexperiencewithcontainerorchestration,InfrastructureasCode,automateddeploymentpipelines,andGit-basedengineeringworkflows.
• Experiencebuildingautomationandserviceswhilesupportingdistributeddatastorageandmessagingplatforms.
• Strongtroubleshooting,observability,communication,andcollaborationskillsinfast-pacedengineeringenvironments.
• Familiaritywithmoderncloud-nativedeployment,networking,security,andpolicygovernancepatterns.
• ExposuretoAI,MLinfrastructure,andmoderngenerativeAIconcepts,includingretrieval,indexing,andmodel-servingarchitectures.
• Knowledgeofsitereliabilityengineering(SRE)practices,multi-cloudenvironments,relevantengineeringcertifications,andemergingAIdevelopmentframeworksisaplus.

For Atlanta, GA Only the salary range for this position is USD$120,000.00 - USD$148,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
