  • Fort Worth, Texas The Sr Principal IT Enterprise Architect - Digital Health & Product Innovation, is responsible for shaping and governing enterprise architecture strategy by defining standards, guiding technology modernization, and aligning business priorities with scalable, resilient, and sustainable solutions. The position partners closely with business leaders, architects, and technology teams to develop value stream roadmaps, assess risks and capabilities, support architecture governance and review processes, and drive solution decisions across Digital Health and Product Innovation initiatives. It also requires deep technical expertise in areas such as cloud platforms, integration, data, microservices, DevSecOps, and emerging technologies like AI and automation, along with the ability to influence stakeholders, mentor teams, and communicate architectural direction effectively within a complex, global, and regulated environment. CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVES ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE & STRATEGY - Establish and govern enterprise standards, patterns, guidelines, and best practices working with EA team. - Assess the technology portfolio to identify gaps and guide modernization and capability maturation. - Develop value stream strategies, capability models, and technology roadmaps aligned to business priorities. - Identify opportunities and risks across the value stream ecosystem and help shape platform strategy. - Assess IT solutions to identify technical risks and provide clear, strategic architectural guidance. - Guide design decisions that enable a resilient, scalable, and sustainable technology landscape. GOVERNANCE & ARCHITECTURE REVIEW - Represent Global Architecture in the review of new initiatives, component viability, and key design decisions. - Support teams in preparing for and engaging with the Architecture Review Board and IT governance forums. - Participate in architecture reviews and reinforce enterprise standards and architectural alignment. - Promote adherence to established IT governance processes and knowledge in the architecture community. - Ensure architecture documentation and technical risk reviews are completed and properly maintained in the architecture repository. SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT & COLLABORATION - Align business and solution architecture across design, implementation, and ongoing enhancements. - Consult with technology teams to ensure systems and infrastructure align with enterprise architecture strategy. - Partner with architects and business stakeholders to: - Develop value stream roadmaps aligned to business priorities. - Identify key business drivers to inform investment prioritization. - Assess current-state capabilities, technologies, and gaps. - Define capability maturation plans and support technology portfolio rationalization. - Evaluate industry and market trends and assess their potential impact. - Conduct impact analyses to support change management and transformation initiatives. - Support solution selection and system integrator evaluations. - Facilitate the solution selection process to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and architectural principles. - Partner with Enterprise Portfolio Management to align architectural plans with enterprise delivery priorities. - Communicate architectural direction, outcomes, and progress to senior leadership. SPECIALIZED ARCHITECTURE FOCUS - Design architectures for connected devices, edge computing, mobile applications, and A2A/B2B integrations using web Methods or comparable integration platforms, applying human centered design and design thinking principles. - Support enterprise initiatives across Digital Health and Product Innovation business and end to end architecture alignment. - Develop Strategic Business capability-based roadmaps for Digital Health and Product Innovation aligned with business capability models and process frameworks such as APQC, supported by EPMO tools and process mining insights. - Bring your knowledge of AI, Automation and Productivity to key projects and business solutions. - Contribute hands on expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), containerization and Kubernetes, microservices architectures, data pipelines, event streaming platforms such as Kafka, and DevSecOps practices. LEADERSHIP, CULTURE & ENGAGEMENT - Partner with business and IT leaders to identify opportunities where technology can advance strategic objectives. - Promote the development of business capabilities, process excellence, and adoption of best practices. - Mentor team members to strengthen architecture capabilities, strategic thinking, and subject matter expertise. - Support innovation, demand management, and portfolio processes by identifying, gathering, and evaluating new ideas. - Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and globally connected team environment. - Serve as a role model for Medtronic values, leadership behaviors, and core competencies. MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications) - Bachelor's degree - 10+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications) - 5+ years of experience aligned to a relevant architecture discipline (solution architecture, integrations, services, infrastructure, deployment and support of technology) - 5+ years working experience as AWS Solution Architect - 5+ years of experience and strong knowledge of Enterprise Architecture concepts, definition, and creation - Certifications in AWS solution architecture and frameworks such as TOGAF - 5+ years working with data architecture, data modeling, data management - High degree of 'learning agility' with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving skills - 3+ years of experience working with large enterprise ERP systems - 3+ years of experience in business capability, process, technology, and data modeling - Knowledge in user experience modeling, information design, & concept generation - Strong business acumen, decision making, and influence skills across all levels of an organization - Excellent leadership and teamwork skills - Strong communication skills, including with employees, clients, senior management and vendors - Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.) - Ability to work collaboratively with employees, leaders, clients, & vendors - Demonstrated ability to work in a global, virtual organization - Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to translate technical information into business terms (e.g., ability to explain complex technical solutions and architecture strategies to non-technical resources) - Technology depth and credibility with technical staff - Work experience in the Medical Device Industry, or other regulated industry - Ability to mentor and develop business, architecture, and technical resources - Able to work independently as well as cooperatively For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
