• A: Yes. Salon Managers lead the team, manage salon operations, and deliver haircuts, depending on salon needs.
• Q: Do I need prior salon management experience?
• A: Previous leadership experience is helpful but not always required. Many Salon Managers are promoted from within after showing strong leadership skills.
• Q: Do Salon Managers cut hair?
• A: Yes. Salon Managers split their time between salon management responsibilities and providing services to customers. The balance between administrative time and floor time varies by location and reflects the specific needs of the salon.
• Q: What training is provided for Salon Managers?
• A: Salon Managers receive leadership and technical training, along with ongoing support to help them confidently lead their teams. The LEADS development program for salon managers provides training in the skills needed to guide salon teams in brand delivery and achieve GREAT results.

To join a Great Clips salon team as a Salon Manager, you’ll need:

• A valid Cosmetology and/or Barber License (requirements vary by state/province)
• Strong technical haircutting skills and the ability to help others grow their skills and confidence
• Proven leadership ability or readiness to take on full salon responsibility
• Excellent communication skills and the desire to motivate, develop, and support a team
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage day-to-day salon operations
• Comfort with technology and salon tools (scheduling systems, metrics, and reports)
• A goal-oriented mindset with a focus on team performance and customer experience
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
