Full job description

- Lead efforts for the analysis and design of structural systems using a variety of building materials.

- Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations to code requirements and IMEG standards using engineering software and tools.

- Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information effectively, and build client relationships through professional communication.

- Work as part of a project team and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.

- Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives .

- Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended .

- Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.

- Provide in-process design reviews of structural system design, calculations, and specifications, and implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements.

- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.

- Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager, and oversee projects through bidding, design, and construction administration phases.

- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required

- 2 years of experience minimum required , 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry

- Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications

- Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and other structures

- Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools including structural engineering design and analysis software

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

- Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

- Los Angeles structural team is concentrated in Southern California education and healthcare work, especially school modernization and hospital upgrade efforts.

- Active backlog features LAUSD and K-12 projects, hospital renovations and seismic/NPC work, civic facilities, and selected mixed-use or housing assignments.

- Recent work includes LAUSD Jefferson CA & Closeout, Education, and Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital NPC-4D L2 Compliance Upgrade, Healthcare.

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
