Software Engineer - Full Stack

As a Software Engineer within PNC's Retail Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO or Birmingham, AL.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building scalable, modern applications and services. You will work alongside experienced engineers, product managers, and architects to develop user-facing applications, APIs, and microservices that power critical business capabilities.

Key

Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services. - Contribute to the development of frontend applications using Angular and modern web technologies. - Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java and related frameworks. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver features. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices, coding standards, and documentation. - Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues across the technology stack. - Develop and execute unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure software quality. - Support application deployments and ongoing production maintenance. - Learn and apply modern software development methodologies, tools, and technologies. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on performance, scalability, security, and reliability.

Qualifications - Experience developing software applications using Java. - Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs. - Knowledge of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and application design patterns. - Familiarity with source control systems such as Git. - Experience troubleshooting and debugging software applications. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. - Experience with both frontend and backend development in a full-stack capacity. - Experience developing web applications using Angular. - Experience designing, developing, and supporting microservices architectures. - Familiarity with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks. - Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices. - Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases. - Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. - Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. - Experience working in Agile development environments.
