Full job description

about the role This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a Lead Development Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia with Cooper Lighting responsible for architecture documentation and for overseeing the technical review processes and obtaining technical approvals by the relevant technical bodies within Cooper Lighting Solutions.

Key

Responsibilities: Liaise with Cybersecurity Team and ensure that security and quality assurance best practices are followed throughout the entire software development life cycle. Responsible for utilizing industry standards and best practices to create and validate secured software architectures. Work within standard protocols to design usage in our products and support the intended functionality.

Document and review these protocol decisions including coding proof of concept and assessment code and provide training and support for the developers to use them. Oversee the adoption of best-in-class software engineering practices, frameworks, and tools. Provide guidance and feedback to other software developers.

Coordinate with the development team to ensure the infrastructure is in place and as per project need. Guide the design of gateway application solutions, interfaces, and protocols within the broader application ecosystem. Plan the technical architecture analysis, design for projects, architect the integration across application teams, and infrastructure, as well as coordinate with the development team to ensure the infrastructure is in place and that it meets project needs.

Work closely with our product managers, marketing managers and software developers to provide guidance and recommendations regarding the design of applications, hardware, network products, and security requirements while using approved integration methods. Work with end users, customers, system integrators and regional marketing leaders to understand their goals and pain points, translate into requirements, and develop products using machine learning, data visualizations and decision support systems to help stakeholders meet their goals.

What you'll need- Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related Engineering disciplines, or a closely related field and 5+ years of related experience required.

3+ years of experience must include: Light Engine Algorithm; Common API (CAPI definition); End-to-end system architecture, product interfaces and software design; JSON Based Object modelling for product interface; Lighting Gateway Architecture of Connected Lighting; Wireless and Wired protocols communication protocol for connected lighting which include proprietary protocol or proprietary extension of standard protocols, ZigBee, DALI, ebus, RESTFul APIs, WebSocket, MQTT, LightLEEDer, DMX, KiNet; Cyber Security Standard, Algorithm, Code Signing and tools; Yocto Project based build system with ownership of meta-oem layer.
