The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the requirements and design related to all mechanical interfaces, structure, and deployable for a remote sensing payload. They will also be responsible for MGSE and all needed equipment for design and build.
- Design and analyze mechanical structures for small- to mid-size space hardware.
- Ensure mechanical and structural designs meet thermal, vibration, and load requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve mass, volume, and manufacturability goals.
- Support environmental testing, including thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, and shock testing.
- Generate engineering documentation, CAD models, and drawings for flight hardware.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design for space-rated hardware.
- Strong background in thermal analysis, material selection, and structural optimization.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar).
- Experience with lightweight composite structures and advanced materials.
- Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and machining for aerospace.
- Knowledge of FEM/FEA analysis tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN, etc.).
- The estimated salary range for this role is $127,000 - $160,000 depending on experience
