Full job description

The Senior Manager in the Applied Global Services Business Unit group is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering service-driven solutions that advance customer success in the semiconductor industry. The Product Manager role blends technical program management with overall product management accountability, this role is tailored for a service-focused organization, emphasizing technology excellence, cross-disciplinary vision, and the development of robust ecosystems around advanced wafer fabrication tools.

The Senior Manager will lead matrix teams to deliver high-impact solutions that align with the strategic objectives of Applied Materials and its customers.

This position is classified at the Senior Manager (M5/E5) level and reports to the Director of Applied Global Services or an equivalent executive leader. The Senior Manager will work closely with engineering, product management, field service, and global customer teams.

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for service offerings spanning semiconductor wafer fab tools and critical subsystems, including RF, Flow, and Process chambers.
  • Engage directly with customers to identify value-driven requirements, ensuring solutions address real-world challenges and deliver measurable benefits.
  • Drive the development of tool ecosystems, including control, monitoring, analytics, and digital twin capabilities, to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration across engineering, field service, and product management teams to create integrated service solutions.
  • Champion a disciplined approach to extracting, prioritizing, and translating customer needs into actionable product visions and service strategies.
  • Manage and influence in a matrix environment, ensuring alignment across global teams and functions to deliver customer value and business results.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in semiconductor fabrication, either on the customer or supplier side.
  • Strong technical background in wafer fab processes and subsystems, with hands-on knowledge of CVD processing, RF systems, Flow controls, and Process chambers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and functions to deliver integrated solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Matrix management expertise with the ability to lead, influence, and align cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a holistic approach to problem-solving and solution development.
  • Commitment to delivering customer value through innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Expertise in CVD processing and advanced wafer fab tool technologies.
  • Experience with digital tools such as equipment monitoring, analytics platforms, and digital twin solutions.
  • Strong customer-facing background with a track record of extracting and prioritizing value-driven requirements.
  • Familiarity with ecosystem development around semiconductor tools, including integration of hardware, software, and analytics.
