You will work with a dedicated team of Coaches and Instructors, the Accelerate U Program Team, to determine how to personalize the learning experience for your students.
You are committed to fostering a growth mindset among your students, nurturing academic confidence, and preparing students for their professional pathways Essential Responsibilities Collaborate to develop an effective student experience for students.
Facilitate courses assigned by delivering in-person instruction consisting of in-person class sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays (9am - 5pm) Utilize technology-based teaching platforms, including D2L (our LMS), to assign and assess student work.
Maintain current and active knowledge of best practices in cybersecurity. Communicate professionally, relate well, and share a passion for college success for diverse learners.
Participate in weekly virtual meetings with a Career Coach (who supports learners in the program) and Accelerate U Staff to report student progress and obstacles.
Empower students to develop competency by sharing a passion for the subject and the skills. Promote student success by showing flexibility in delivery and work schedule to provide student support, as well as, exhibit a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in cybersecurity, computer science, or a closely related field (strongly preferred) CompTIA Security+ certified 3+ years of professional experience in the tech industry in a security role. 2+ years of teaching/coaching others in the field (preferred) Experience with online/digital tools for teaching (preferred) Technology proficient.
Excellent facilitation and classroom management skills in in-person modalities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills.
Agility. Ability to work with a highly diverse faculty and student body. Willingness/ability to use data to inform instruction.
