In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-BH1
- Provide technical assistance to the piping superintendents and crafts professionals. - Interpret design drawings and interface with engineering to resolve design and constructability issues. - Ensure all required inspections required per approved Inspection & Test Plan for Piping are performed and documented. - Performs quality inspections of in progress and completed scope. - Ensure completed works are in compliance with project specifications, standard installation details, and latest revision of P&IDs and isometric drawings. - Conduct walkdowns for Installation Work Packages (IWP), Test Work Packages (TWP), discipline walkdowns for system completion, final walkdown with CSU and Client, etc. - Develop and issue punch lists and verify completion when claimed. - Review and sign off test packages for release to test. - Ensure all required inspection reports have been correctly completed, verify works are performed to latest revision. - Witness pneumatic testing and line blowing of piping systems. - Perform routine inspection of piping commodities under installation and field storage to ensure project preservation requirements are being followed. - Perform daily quantity verification for components claimed as installed. - Work closely with other discipline field engineers and coordinate efforts and activities to meet the project
requirements - Participate in quality walkdowns, work with Supervision to address recurring quality issues. - Conduct training of craft professionals to support ZERO REWORK initiative. - Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Field Change Documents (FCD) as needed. - Interface with home office for constructability and design issues, design revisions, and vendor issues as needed. - Generate field material purchase requisitions, perform receiving inspections of tagged items and specialty items.
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Construction experience assigned to a construction site. - Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken. - Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. - Experience walking down piping installation work packages and piping test packages, generating punch lists, verification of completed punch items, etc. - Experience executing pneumatic pressure testing, exclusion zone calculations - Experience with ASME B31.3 piping code. - TEAMWorks experience is preferred. - Experience working on the U.S.
Gulf Coast is preferred.
Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces.
Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
