This role combines software engineering, data engineering, and cloud technologies to build scalable data platforms, automate engineering workflows, and develop analytical solutions supporting renewable energy operations. The successful candidate will design production-grade data pipelines, build scalable applications, and contribute to the implementation of analytical solutions.

Depending on experience and level, the successful candidate will contribute to or lead engineering best practices, drive continuous improvement initiatives, mentor team members as appropriate, and support the long-term evolution of the Performance Engineering platform.

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Python data pipelines within Databricks and Delta Lake environments.

- Design resilient ETL frameworks supporting production-grade renewable energy analytics.

- Build scalable ingestion pipelines integrating SCADA systems, weather providers, market data, and third-party vendor APIs.

- Develop reusable engineering frameworks, shared libraries, and automation tools to improve platform maintainability.

- Optimize Spark workloads, Delta Lake performance, and large-scale data processing pipelines.

- Design robust data models, schema evolution strategies, and data governance standards.

- Design analytical solutions supporting lost production, curtailment, availability, degradation, and operational performance analysis.

- Integrate satellite weather datasets, forecasting services, and operational telemetry into engineering workflows.

- Develop forecasting, regression, normalization, and reconciliation models supporting asset performance evaluations.

- Develop and support fleet-wide engineering dashboards and performance monitoring tools.

- Develop and maintain data quality frameworks including automated validation, reconciliation, anomaly detection, and monitoring.

- Implement engineering best practices for testing, logging, exception handling, observability, and deployment.

- Maintain technical documentation, metadata, and data dictionaries.

- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering design discussions.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of platform reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

- 5+ years of experience developing production software, data platforms, or engineering analytics solutions. Candidates with significant additional experience and demonstrated technical leadership may be considered for the Senior Database Engineer level.

- Strong proficiency in Python with experience developing production-quality software.

- Strong SQL skills with experience designing and optimizing analytical data models.

- Experience developing ETL pipelines processing large-scale structured and time-series datasets.

- Strong understanding of distributed data processing concepts and cloud-based analytics platforms.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, or battery storage operations.

- Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud-native data platforms.

- Experience integrating SCADA systems, operational technologies, and third-party vendor APIs.

- Experience building engineering applications using Streamlit or similar Python frameworks.

- Experience with statistical modeling, regression analysis, forecasting, or machine learning.

Compensation: $108,000 - $130,000 (Engineer), $125,000 - $152,000 (Senior Engineer); bonus eligible
