Full job description

Westminster Communities of Florida, a nationally recognized, faith-based not-for-profit organization, is seeking an Executive Director in St. Augustine, Florida.

Founded in 1954, Westminster Communities of Florida is the largest not-for-profit provider of senior living in the state dedicated to a Mission and ministry of service to older adults. We proudly serve more than 7,000 residents throughout Florida, offering an active lifestyle paired with a full continuum of exceptional care — including independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, home care, pharmacy services, and affordable housing for low-income seniors.

Join a team where you can make life great for residents and team members alike!

  • Implement and maintain policies established by the Board of Directors and Community Support Services offices
  • Uphold organizational standards and ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations to residents, including entrance fee and continuing care agreements
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including AHCA licensure requirements, state Life Plan Community/CCRC statutes, and CMS quality standards where applicable
  • Maintain survey readiness and support continuous quality improvement across all levels of care
  • Select, develop, evaluate, and lead a cross-functional leadership team — including Nursing/Health Services, Dining and Nutrition Services, Life Enrichment/Activities, Plant Operations and Maintenance, Marketing and Sales, and Social Services/Resident Care Coordination in partnership with Community Support Services Directors/Coordinators.
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of community staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and resolving team member concerns
  • Foster a culture that supports retention and engagement in a competitive senior living labor market
  • Recommend and manage the annual capital and operational budget, following Community Support Services accounting procedures
  • Monitor budget performance, occupancy trends, and revenue cycle health; submit monthly variance reports and approve major purchases and invoices
  • Apply Life Plan/CCRC business acumen — understanding entrance fee models, reserve requirements, and actuarial considerations unique to Life Plan Community operations
  • Serve as a positive liaison between residents, resident council, community staff, and Community Support Services teams
  • Champion person-centered, aging-in-place philosophies that honor resident choice and independence across the continuum
  • Maintain community grounds and physical properties in excellent condition to support residents' quality of life
  • Build strong relationships with local community groups, agencies, and organizations to support community engagement and philanthropic partnerships

Education: Bachelor's degree in a health-related or business field required; Master's degree preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful management experience in the retirement/senior living industry, preferably within a multi-facility or CCRC/Life Plan Community organization
  • Current Florida Nursing Home Administrator's License, or ability to obtain one promptly
  • Familiarity with AHCA survey processes and CCRC regulatory requirements preferred
  • Strong ability to motivate and communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff across multiple levels of care
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting financial statements, occupancy reports, and CCRC-specific financial models
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to set and achieve goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to leadership, boards, and community groups
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret complex data and technical information
  • Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with the ability to navigate the mental and emotional demands of a dynamic senior living leadership role
  • Genuine passion for the aging services mission and improving the lived experience of older adults

This is an opportunity to lead with purpose — shaping a community where residents feel valued, supported, and at home, and where staff are equipped to do their best work. You'll be backed by a strong Community Support Services infrastructure and a shared commitment to excellence across the full continuum of senior living.
