As a Director of Detox and Stabilization Services at Horizon, you will...

- Oversee daily operations across detox and stabilization programs to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.

- Lead site leaders, program directors, and managers in achieving performance, staffing, workflow, utilization, and service targets.

- Develop, implement, and monitor standardized policies, procedures, workflows, and operational expectations across programs.

- Partner with executive leadership, medical leadership, nursing, clinical leaders, quality assurance, compliance, finance, employee services, training, facilities, operations, and other support departments to maintain service excellence.

- Monitor bed utilization, admissions flow, discharge efficiency, staffing coverage, scheduling practices, and capacity management.

- Lead and support incident review, risk mitigation, emergency preparedness, environment-of-care initiatives, accreditation readiness, and continuous improvement efforts.

- Assist in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans that support program growth, quality outcomes, and fiscal stewardship.

We can't wait to learn more about you! Here are a few specifics of what you'll need for the job:

- Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, nursing, healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or a related field required.

- Bachelor's degree in a related field may be considered with 10+ years of senior leadership experience in multiprogram behavioral health or substance use disorder operations required.

- Relevant clinical licensure and/or substance use disorder credential (Ex. LMSW, CASAC, etc) required.

- 7+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in substance use disorder, behavioral health, or healthcare services required.

- Experience overseeing multiprogram operations, leadership staff, budgets, performance metrics, and large-scale operational change.

- Extensive knowledge of substance use disorder treatment, withdrawal management, residential services, co-occurring disorders, and applicable regulatory, licensing, accreditation, payer, and risk management requirements.

- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple departments and drive consistency, accountability, performance, and quality across diverse programs.

- Strong financial, operational, analytical, communication, relationship-building, change management, and conflict resolution skills.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leaders, clinical teams, support departments, external partners, and regulatory bodies.

- Proficiency with electronic health records, reporting systems, dashboards, and standard business applications.

This position is located at 291 Elm St, Buffalo NY. Terrace House is a 68-bed facility offering stabilization and medically supervised detox treatment. We provide twenty-four-hour care to adults who need support, counseling, observation, nursing, and medical care to achieve initial stabilization from drug and/or alcohol withdrawal.

This is a salaried full-time position, Monday-Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm. The role requires participation in on-call coverage and flexibility to respond to urgent program needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, overnight coverage, and staff call-ins as needed.

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. This position has a salary range of $100,000-$110,000.

Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually. There is an additional stipend provided for on-call responsibilities.

- Stationary posture with frequent standing/sitting alternation.

- Mobility required involving repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.

- Handling light duties, moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
