Full job description

We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Director of Development or Senior Director of Development to support the mission of the university through donor engagement with the goal of soliciting gifts at the major gift level or higher with an emphasis on George W. Truett Theological Seminary. This position will operate as the primary liaison bridging the working relationship between the school and Advancement in support of philanthropic opportunities.

This position may have management responsibilities and will serve on the Academic Unit management team to enhance philanthropic outcomes for BU and be a culture ambassador for our team, division, and institution.

A Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant work experience are required. A Master's degree and seven years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.

A valid US Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.

Must be able to travel outside of the state of Texas.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

- Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects at the major/principal gift level for Baylor University, with emphasis on George W. Truett Theological Seminary

- Provide presence, knowledge, and key communication between the Division of Advancement and George W. Truett Theological Seminary

- Serve as the subject matter expert and offer guidance, recommendation, and connection between the Division of Advancement and George W. Truett Theological Seminary and will share pertinent information to both areas in support of philanthropic efforts that further George W. Truett Theological Seminary and Baylor University

- Lead by offering support and guidance in portfolio management, metrics, donor engagement across the donor continuum, and uphold culture and accountability that reflects the Division of Advancement, the George W. Truett Theological Seminary, and Baylor University

- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission

- Ability to comply with university policies

- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
