Full job description

The company is transforming the way clean energy projects are financed.

- Since 2024, the tax credit transfer business has partnered with major corporations to unlock over $8 billion in clean energy investment, including some of the industry's largest transactions - The compliance business is building disruptive software for developers to track operations and ensure regulatory compliance - The company has built a consistently profitable business, focused on building for the long term - It raised a small seed round of funding in 2023 and has since repaid its investors in full - It does not have pressure from VCs or outside investors to chase short-term targets, giving it the autonomy to focus on building a great long-term business - A laser focus on solving tough problems has resulted in repeat customers and strong profitability since 2024 - The company has built a mission-driven culture that values creativity, collaboration, excellence, and speed without sacrificing fun - The talented team includes experienced leaders from SunEdison, SolarCity, Tesla, GoodLeap, and other clean energy companies, and it is consistently amazed by what its 30+ person team of experts can accomplish - The company looks for curious, smart, and kind colleagues with an entrepreneurial streak (it has quite a few ex-entrepreneurs on its team) - It's a great place to learn from energy finance experts and play a critical role in deploying clean energy technologies such as battery storage, nuclear, manufacturing, solar, and wind

As the company scales rapidly to meet demand, it is looking for an execution-driven Director, Origination to lead high-impact transactions and uncover new growth opportunities through partnerships.

This is a high-upside opportunity for a deal-maker at heart who thrives in high-stakes negotiations, working alongside leadership on the company's most important transactions and partnerships. This role requires sharp analytical instincts with a bias for action: someone who takes ownership, moves fast, and delivers on large, complex projects.

- Serve as a trusted advisor to tax and finance leaders at Fortune 500 companies, guiding them through their first or largest tax credit purchases - Source, qualify, and prioritize origination opportunities across clean energy developers and manufacturers - Own the negotiation of complex, multi-hundred-million-dollar tax credit transactions, keeping deals on track and resolving issues proactively

- Build the partnership playbook, defining who to engage, how, and when - Manage and grow a book of relationships with tax credit investors, project developers, and industry partners - Represent the company at industry events and client visits - Translate market feedback into recommendations that sharpen the company's origination strategy and offerings

- 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced, deal-focused environment such as financial services or a fast-growing startup - Track record of owning outcomes, spotting issues early, and driving solutions in customer-facing environments - Experience leading complex negotiations or transactions from first conversation to close - Very high attention to detail paired with sharp written and verbal communication - A growth mindset and the drive to go above and beyond: someone who seeks out steep learning curves and runs toward big challenges

Note: The company is an equal opportunity employer. You're encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't line up exactly with the job description.

- Help scale one of the most exciting and impactful clean energy finance companies - Work directly with experienced founders and a top-tier team - Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance - Travel to company offsites 2-3x per year to meet teammates in person - Flexible PTO plan

The company is remote-first, but for this role it prefers a candidate located in San Francisco, CA , Los Angeles, CA , or Seattle, WA .
