Full job description

SentiLink provides innovative identity and risk solutions, empowering institutions and individuals to transact with confidence. We’re building the future of identity verification in the United States replacing a clunky, ineffective, and expensive status quo with solutions that are 10x faster, smarter, and more accurate.

We’ve seen tremendous traction and are growing extremely quickly. Our real-time APIs have helped verify hundreds of millions of identities, starting with financial services and rapidly expanding into new markets. SentiLink is backed by world-class investors including Craft Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, NYCA, and Max Levchin.

We’ve earned recognition from TechCrunch, CNBC, Bloomberg, Forbes, Business Insider, PYMNTS, American Banker, LendIt, and have been named to the Forbes Fintech 50. We have also been named a 2026 FICO Industry Vanguard Decision Award Winner. Last but not least, we’ve even made history - we were the first company to go live with the eCBSV and testified before the United States House of Representatives on the future of identity.

SentiLink supports a variety of ways to work, ranging from fully remote to in-office. We operate as a digital-first company with strong collaboration across the U.S. and India. We maintain physical offices in Austin, San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Chicago in the U.S., and in Gurugram (Delhi) and Bengaluru in India. If you’re located near one of these offices, we would love for you to spend time in the office regularly. Some roles are hybrid or in-office by design. For example, our engineering team in India works primarily from our Gurugram office.

Role:

We’re seeking an accomplished Director of Engineering to lead and grow our engineering team in India. You’ll initially oversee 5 engineers across product development, SRE and InfoSec, scaling further as we expand. If you’ve led high-performing engineering and product teams, have a growth mindset, and bring at least 5 years of people-management experience, we’d love to talk.

Location & Reporting:
  • Location: Gurugram or Bengaluru (India). Hybrid working model; in-office presence expected
  • Reports to: Chief Technology Officer (US-based)
  • Team: Engineering, India
Responsibilities:
  • Technical Vision & Execution: Own the roadmap for products, solutions, internal tools and operational capabilities—ensuring scalable, secure, and performant delivery.
  • Lead & Scale: Manage an initial team of 5 engineers, structuring, mentoring, and scaling effectively as we grow. Foster a culture of continuous learning, hiring top talent, holding rigorous technical discussions, and promoting high standards.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with US stakeholders in product, data science, infrastructure, and executive team to align engineering efforts with strategic business goals.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement best practices for engineering workflows— scalability, observability, incident response, and reliability of all applications.
  • Strategic Innovation: Drive innovative architectural decisions and platform evolution to support product differentiation and speed to market.
Requirements:
  • A business mindset that involves thinking strategically to align engineering efforts with the overall business goals, prioritizing high-ROI projects, and cultivating an entrepreneurial spirit of ownership and continuous improvement within the team.
  • 5+ years leading engineering teams (managing 10+ people), ideally within fast-growth tech environments.
  • Experience building teams in India for US based organizations.
  • Hands-on technical fluency in Python, Golang, React, and AWS; comfortable enough to be a credible voice in system design without being a bottleneck.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-functioning teams with high hiring and retention standards.
  • Experience in API based products in a SaaS based environment is a big plus.
  • Strong communicator; capable of collaborating across product, data, and executive functions.
  • Bonus: Experience in fintech, fraud/risk or identity systems.
Perks:
  • Employer paid group health insurance for you and your dependents
  • 401(k) plan with employer match (or equivalent for non US-based roles)
  • Flexible paid time off
  • Regular company-wide in-person events
  • Home office stipend, and more!
  • Corporate Values:

  • Follow Through
  • Deep Understanding
  • Whatever It Takes
  • Do Something Smart
Why Join Us:
  • Impact at Scale: Shape the technological direction and team culture at a critical growth stage.
  • High Performing Team: Join a team with shared vision and purpose, transparency, open and trusted communication, clear roles and accountability, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborative Culture: Join a team dedicated to grit, transparency, and impactful products.
  • Autonomy with Responsibility: Trusted to make and execute decisions with high visibility and meaningful outcomes.
