Senior Product Manager, Simulation

Waymo's Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo's technology and the products it enables forward.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Director of Product Management.

Define and champion a compelling product vision and strategy for Waymo's AV simulator

Work with cross-functional teams, including product managers, operations, system engineering and safety experts to define product requirements

Collaborate with Engineering, Research, Systems Engineering, Safety, and Operations teams to gather requirements, align roadmaps, and ensure successful development and deployment of new simulation capabilities.

Monitor and evaluate the performance of the simulator, identifying opportunities to improve realism and efficiency

Partner with research to build and leverage large-scale foundation models in Simulation

A BS degree in Computer Science, engineering, similar technical field or equivalent practical experience.

6+ years of relevant product management experience, with a proven track record of owning and launching complex technical products.

Strong technical acumen and demonstrated experience developing and launching AI/ML powered products, including familiarity with foundation models or generative AI.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience working on simulation systems, robotics, autonomous vehicle technology, or game engines.

Deep understanding of and experience in productizing AI/ML models, including large-scale foundation models.

Knowledge of sensor simulation, synthetic data generation, or world modeling.
