Linux Systems Engineer (TS/SCI)

Our customer operates at the forefront of technology, dealing with some of the most advanced geospatial and intelligence systems in the world. You'll be exposed to, and will contribute to, the development and application of innovative technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced data analytics.

In support of this mission, Vantor is seeking a cleared Systems Engineer who is looking for an incredible challenge. We are building a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment to provide full lifecycle support of compute, network, and storage infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate in a multitalented team in support of the environments, support, sustainment, and growth activities.

You will work with a dynamic team consisting of Linux Administrators, DevOps & Infrastructure Engineers, Systems Engineers to support computational design elements of high-performing Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and harnessing that power to feed into the new Platform.

• Install, configure, and sustain Linux operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

• Assist in the design and provisioning of the enterprise network environment.

• Prepare and deliver both program and user level documentation for system operations.

• Monitor for performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

• Understand the current system, subsystems, and component specifications and be able to use experience to recommend changes to facilitate efficient and effective development.

• Communicate and share expertise within and across the client’s organizational boundaries.

• Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, information systems, computer engineering, or related technical field. Relevant professional experience can substitute in lieu of degree.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the following technical areas:

• System Administration or systems engineering in a Linux-heavy environment.

• Experience in the build, operations, and sustainment of LAN/WAN networks

• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and evaluating alternatives to solve complex problems.

• At least 5 years’ experience in the above technical qualifications

Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range.

The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.

• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $95,000.00 - $127,000.00 - $139,700.00 annually.
