Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects for a well-established electrical contractor. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a respected electrical contractor specializing in commercial and industrial electrical construction, including design-build, low-voltage systems, fire alarm installations, service work, and solar projects. This opportunity is ideal for a project manager with strong field experience who can independently lead multiple projects while building lasting client relationships and driving successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from award through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and labor forecasts.
  • Coordinate field operations by working closely with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, and inspectors.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, and profitability while identifying and resolving budget or schedule risks.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate progress, milestones, financial updates, and potential challenges.
  • Coordinate material procurement, equipment deliveries, and subcontractor scheduling.
  • Resolve field issues and support successful commissioning, inspections, and project turnover.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
  • 5+ years of project management experience within commercial or industrial electrical construction.
  • Experience managing projects for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, and construction practices.
  • Valid Connecticut Electrical License required.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout with full financial responsibility.
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates available to start within the next month are strongly preferred.
  • Competitive salary: $100,000–$110,000 , based on experience.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Opportunity to work on diverse commercial and industrial electrical projects.
  • Stable, collaborative team environment with long-term career growth opportunities.
