About the job:

As an Accessibility Consultant, you will apply your knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA requirements, assistive technologies, and Target accessibility standards to help create accessible digital experiences. You will partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, providing accessibility guidance during discovery, design, development, and testing.

You will review concepts, user flows, designs, and implemented experiences to identify accessibility barriers and recommend solutions. You will independently support assigned product areas while continuing to grow your accessibility expertise through collaboration with Senior and Lead Accessibility Consultants. Your work will help advance accessibility across Target's digital ecosystem and drive inclusive experiences for all Target customers and employees.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of initiative, organization, and versatility with the ability to manage ambiguity, risk, uncertainty, and changing priorities
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude
  • Hands-on experience evaluating digital experiences for accessibility, identifying barriers, documenting findings, and communicating recommendations to product, design, and engineering partners
  • Experience using assistive technologies to evaluate digital experiences, including screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation
  • Understanding of how accessibility integrates throughout the software development lifecycle, including experience working within Agile delivery practices and cross-functional product teams
