Full job description

You will play a key role in defining and reviewing how Private Equity, Private Credit, and Real Estate fund advisors meet regulatory, tax, and financial statement reporting requirements using our new, proprietary EY-developed technology platform. EY's Accounting and Administration platform brings investment risk, transactional, and holdings data into a single platform for workflow management, transparency, and accountability.

- Bring your innovative mindset and experiences to rethink the service delivery model for EY's largest alternative asset management clients, focusing on delivering the highest-quality work products through new technology and a global delivery team

- Understand the intricacies of Private Equity ("PE") and PE Fund-of-Fund investment operations, fund accounting, and fund financial statement reporting and serve as a subject matter resource for our most complex client engagements

- Partner with leaders within EY Comply to define and drive our overall team vision and develop an industry-leading fund accounting platform

- Build and foster the highest performing teams by inspiring, training, and coaching a diverse group of accounting professionals in multiple international locations

- Drive execution and high-quality work within expected timeframes and budget through oversight of multiple functional teams of managers and senior analysts

- Establish the strategic and tactical priorities for the team in response to existing and new client delivery requirements

- Review the team's work products and deliverables before transmission to clients and provide coaching for improvement where applicable

- Identify and mitigate risks at the highest level of escalation and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes

- Partner with leading industry investment managers on how to operationalize their most complex product structures

- Innovate new processes for executing critical accounting functions, including capital activity, valuations, and transaction processing, by challenging industry standards

- Provide thought leadership on business and industry trends relevant to our clients, including the latest regulatory developments and industry practices for alternative fund structures

- Own key client relationships within Fund Controllership and Fund Financial Reporting across new and existing clients

- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, diverse, and inclusive team-oriented work environment, playing an active role in mentoring mid-management level resources

- Significant understanding of fund accounting processes, risks, and controls, as well as the ability to interpret and execute detailed accounting procedures

- Deep knowledge of the alternative asset management industry, including fund accounting, controllership, and/or fund financial reporting

- Mastery of Private Equity and Fund of Funds investment concepts and the application of regulatory and financial reporting rules applicable to complex products

- Proven client relationship management skills and comfort with client communications, especially with executives and/or C-suite stakeholders

- A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, or a related discipline

- A minimum of 8 years of work experience related to fund accounting, fund audit, fund financial reporting, and/or fund controllership

- Significant experience managing large teams and overseeing direct reports within an international organization

- Strong analytical skills, especially an understanding of connections between accounting systems

- Strong communication skills, including effective writing and presentations to executive clients and internal stakeholders

- Experience leading fund financial statement production cycles, including managing annual audits

- Effective leadership, project management, and organizational skills

- An interest in working in an environment that encourages continuous learning, development, and the identification of opportunities to improve individual and team performance

- A willingness to work in a hybrid in-office / remote working environment

- Ability to participate in travel to other domestic and global EY offices as needed

- Experience and desire to redefine ways of working, lead by example, and inspire your team to buy in and build their careers

- A willingness to travel approximately one trip per quarter, domestically or internationally, to support growth, training, and development of team resources

- Experience with relevant software tools, including document management systems, workflow systems, investment accounting systems (eFront, Investran, Geneva, Lemon Edge) or other investment sub-ledger software

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,500 to $305,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $126,700 to $347,500.

Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
