Security Officer College Campus Access Control

What You'll Do: Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related activities, and/or emergency response actions as appropriate. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related concerns according to site protocols.

Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity. Monitor entrances, common areas, and exterior locations for unusual conditions, and report maintenance issues, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate contacts.

Support campus operations by assisting with directions, visitor questions, and other routine requests while maintaining awareness of security-related conditions across the location. Minimum

Requirements: Have at least 1 year of security-related experience. Be at least 21 years of age. Access control and badge experience is preferred.

A guard card and/or license is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
