Full job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO: - Create white-page designs that will be the foundation of Form Energy's Gen 2 product designs - Work with consulting companies, vendors, manufacturing engineers, and technical operations to transition designs from the prototype stage to high volume production - Drive verification analysis and testing of your team's design work - Establish best practices for fluid system design and level-up your team members - Recruit and hire engineers who share your same vision for excellence in design - Release designs consistent with company and team best practices (drawings, tolerance analysis, etc) - Guide team through failure root cause analysis on systems and components - Travel up to 20% to other Form Energy offices or vendor sites WHAT YOU'LL BRING: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Bachelor's with 10+ years of industry experience in mechanical design of equipment, liquid or gas handling systems - Experience leading design work for complex mechanical systems and managing 2 or more direct reports in a functional leadership capacity - Understanding of first-principles modeling and design and experience optimizing designs for manufacturing and cost-down - Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with contract manufacturing vendors - Demonstrated experience optimizing mechanical design, balance-of-plant systems, and interdisciplinary interfaces of fluid systems - Direct experience in product development within an early-stage environment - Sense of urgency and self-driven to hit difficult schedule targets #LI-Onsite Humanity is a cornerstone of Form Energy's culture, and we make sure our compensation and benefits reflect that.
