As a Machine Operator B, you play a critical role in ensuring high-quality products are packaged safely, accurately, and efficiently. This position helps drive production performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. You will be a key contributor on the production floor, supporting team success, solving equipment issues, and helping develop less experienced operators.
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot packaging and production equipment to meet daily production goals. - Perform equipment setup, changeovers, startups, shutdowns, and minor servicing activities. - Ensure products meet quality standards by identifying defects and documenting quality observations. - Review manufacturing work orders, bills of materials, and special instructions to ensure accurate production. - Package finished products, palletize materials, apply labels, and prepare shipments. - Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, while following all safety procedures. - Maintain accurate production, quality, and inventory records using company systems. - Support line clearances, housekeeping activities, and continuous improvement efforts. - Promote a strong safety culture by following EHS requirements, submitting safety observations, and recommending improvements. - Assist with training, mentoring, and leading Machine Operator C team members as needed.
- 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive, bottling, packaging, or a similar production environment. - Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and following standard operating procedures. - Experience operating manufacturing or packaging equipment. - Ability to read and interpret production documentation and work instructions. - Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company systems and applications. - Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and maintain accurate records. - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and leadership. - Ability to work in a physically active manufacturing environment and lift up to 65 pounds as required.
- High School Diploma or GED. - Forklift certification and experience operating low-lift and sit-down forklift equipment. - Experience with packaging, robotic equipment, automated production lines, or manufacturing changeovers. - Previous experience training or mentoring production team members.
