In this position, you will be responsible for the organization and direction of construction engineering personnel and activities relating to mechanical field construction engineering, subcontracts, and engineering liaison to the design functional group. Interprets design drawings and specifications. Supervises field verification of received and installed permanent plant materials and equipment.
Provides technical direction to construction engineers and superintendents in a mechanical engineering capacity in an area or on the overall project (project organization chart dependent).
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Owns technical execution for Mechanical, expert knowledge of Mechanical systems and equipment - Understanding isometrics, specs, codes, equipment setting & support concepts, and testing; ensures work is buildable and compliant. - Leads Mechanical field engineering team, assigns scope, sets priorities, reviews work products, and coaches field engineers to consistent standards and pace. - Drives mechanical system readiness and AWP, ensures equipment, materials, specialty torque tools, and test packages are accessible ready to support IWPs and superintendent work plans. - Controls quantities, progress, and quality, validates installed quantities, supports progress measurement, prevents rework, and drives resolution of technical issues. - Primary technical interface for Mechanical, coordinates with engineering, procurement, QC, construction, and commissioning; escalates systemic issues early and clearly.
