Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal System Engineer to support the Sentinel Program in Roy, UT.

  • Support system requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower-level requirements.
  • Assist with the generation and revision of executable system and subsystem requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents.
  • Support systems engineering metrics and technical performance measurement tracking.
  • Support the preparation of system engineering materials during system reviews as needed.
  • Interface with inter-organizational management and external Customer to communicate technical briefing and program status.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraint
  • Performs functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into Hardware and Software specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active US Government Secret Clearance
  • 5+ years experience with writing, maintaining, and/or owning interface requirements
  • Experience in systems engineering tools, such as DOORS, CAMEO.
  • Experience in configuration management and product lifecycle management tool(s).
  • Development of Interface Requirement Specifications (IRS) or Interface Control Documents (ICD)
  • Experience working in the defense industry or weapon system
  • Experience in developing an Operational Concept (OpsCon) document
  • Experience with large complex design and hardware integration efforts.
  • Experience in developing of Interface Requirement Specifications (IRS)
  • Experience in developing of Interface Control Documents (ICD)

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
