Full job description

At Clorox, we’re driven by a powerful purpose: to champion a cleaner, healthier world. For over a century, our trusted products have helped people protect what matters most—homes, families, and communities. When you join our team, you become part of a company that values integrity, innovation, and impact.

From cutting-edge product development to sustainable manufacturing and community initiatives, every role at Clorox contributes to making everyday life better for millions. If you're passionate about making a difference and being part of a team that’s committed to doing the right thing, Clorox Cleaning offers a place where your work truly matters.

At Clorox, we believe people do their best work when they can make a meaningful impact. As a Senior Packaging Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering packaging system capabilities that enable innovation, efficiency, and growth across our manufacturing network. In this role, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to lead capital projects—from concept through start-up—while driving safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

This position requires 100% on site with minimal travel required.

  • Lead the design, installation, commissioning, and start-up of packaging systems for new products, upgrades, and capacity improvements.

  • Manage medium-scale capital projects, including scope definition, schedule, budget, and resource planning.

  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Operations.

  • Apply Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Early Management principles to optimize performance and reliability.

  • Identify and deliver cost savings, productivity improvements, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Ensure projects meet safety, quality, regulatory, and environmental standards.

  • Evaluate and manage external vendors, consultants, and equipment suppliers.

  • Analyze performance data and solve complex technical problems using a structured, data driven approach.

  • Coach and support Operations and Maintenance teams to build technical capability and drive long-term results.
  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or 10+ years of packaging/project experience
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, including capital project execution in manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to drive results and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or manufacturing environments.
  • Background in Operations and/or maintenance/reliability engineering roles.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D modeling software (ACAD, Solidworks, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

At Clorox, we champion people to be well and thrive, starting with our own people. To help make this possible, we offer comprehensive, competitive benefits that prioritize all aspects of wellbeing and provide flexibility for our teammates’ unique needs. This includes robust health plans, a market-leading 401(k) program with a company match, flexible time off benefits (including half-day summer Fridays depending on location), inclusive fertility/adoption benefits, and more.

We are committed to fair and equitable pay and are transparent with current and future teammates about our full salary ranges. We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

All ranges are subject to change in the future. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
