When you join us, you’re joining a global, purpose-led company on an exciting growth journey with an amazing culture and great benefits.

  • We believe in the importance of giving back and you’ll have many opportunities to do just that through the Tory Burch Foundation and paid volunteer days.

This Role is Tailor-Made for You Because: You’re a hands on engineering manager who loves making stores run flawlessly – from POS and payments to clienteling and store reporting – and you know how to turn business needs into reliable, observable software and smooth store operations. You’re comfortable leading vendor squads, partnering with Store Operations, and diving into new store openings while improving day to day reliability.

Your background spans distributed systems, microservices, and observability, and you’ve worked in omnichannel environments supporting BOPIS, ship from store, and remote selling so shoppers get a seamless experience across channels.

You’re also resourceful and collaborative with stakeholders and partner with Product Managers, Data Analysts, and cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business needs. A sense of humor is a plus!

The typical day is… atypical. Your Key Responsibilities may include.

  • Own store technology delivery & operations. Lead feature development and on‑call for POS, clienteling, store reporting, and payments; run incident/root cause analysis, harden releases, and monitor uptime, authorization success rates, and tender reliability.
  • Launch & scale new stores and relocations. Partner with Retail Ops to stage POS devices, payment terminals, and clienteling iPads for new store openings; ensure configuration, integrations, security, and acceptance tests are complete before doors open.
  • Integrate payments & clienteling. Work with payment and POS partners and clienteling platforms to deliver frictionless checkout and associate workflows, aligning SDKs, APIs, and compliance requirements.
  • Enable omnichannel store experiences. Coordinate with OMS and eCommerce teams to support BOPIS, ship‑from‑store, and remote selling; track store‑level SLAs and inventory & price accuracy that underpin these journeys.
  • Measure & improve. Maintain dashboards for latency, error budgets, device health, and store uptime; prioritize backlogs with data; align release calendars with trade/holiday peaks and change‑management controls.

The consistent thread is that you’ll be working with an amazing team of women and men who share your passion for excellence.

  • Proficiency in one modern programming language such as Java or JavaScript (or equivalent).
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices powering store and edge scenarios.
  • Hands‑on experience managing POS systems and clienteling apps (device provisioning, release management, integrations to ERP/CRM).
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and messaging/event streaming patterns for storeßàcloud sync.
  • Proficiency with instrumentation, telemetry, and observability for store apps and devices (dashboards, alerts, SLOs).
  • Practical understanding of retail operations & omnichannel (e.g., BOPIS, ship‑from‑store, remote selling), including dependencies on OMS and inventory accuracy.
  • Familiarity with payments (terminal management, gateway integrations) and modern clienteling platforms.
  • Experience adopting AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent) across the team to accelerate delivery, with a point of view on code quality, security, and review practices when AI-generated code is involved.
  • Familiarity applying AI/ML to store and clienteling scenarios — such as associate copilots, personalized recommendations, conversational assistants, or computer-vision use cases — including how to integrate model APIs (LLMs, vector search) into POS or clienteling workflows responsibly.
  • Clear communication up, down, and across functions; ability to translate store realities into engineering priorities and outcomes.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves — jump on incident bridges, review logs/telemetry, or help test & stage devices ahead of store launches.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and leading cross‑functional program execution (retail operations, payments, security/compliance, vendor squads).
  • Ability to set clear objectives, and unblock delivery while maintaining quality bars and adherence to retail calendars.
