Full job description

This position is based in McGregor, Texas (Central Texas area).

- Oversee and own the full lifecycle of multidiscipline construction projects to achieve on-time and under-budget delivery with customer satisfaction. The following project management responsibilities are applicable:

- Provide guidance and input on preliminary scope/customer requests, including rough order of magnitude (ROM) costs

- Gather proposals from architects, engineers, vendors, or contractors

- Review proposals for accuracy, identify and track cost-saving suggestions or improvements

- Implement controls as needed to track and manage cost, schedule, and scope

- Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out

- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time

- Manage the overall site safety and environmental requirements for contractors

- Provide daily coordination to contractors working across the entire facility and coordinate critical path work to maintain project schedules

- Plan construction activities with facility operators to avoid delays to facility operations

- Perform daily inspection and verification of contractor's progress and observe critical operations to ensure quality

- Ensure contractors follow site and OSHA safety standards while performing work

- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time

- Manage night shift/early morning contractors as project work requires

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management with 1+ years of experience working in the field on construction projects, or 5+ years of commercial construction experience will be considered in place of degree

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations; ability to mark up and highlight coordination items on plans

- Proficiency in calculating percent grade, calculating volumes, and establishing and using site benchmarks

- Experience in performing topographic, construction staking, and as-builts using GPS and/or total station equipment

- Experience installing civil infrastructure such utilities, and structural concrete.

- Ability to manage priorities and multiple projects at once with minimal guidance.

- Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management

- Experience in directing work in the field between trades and contractors.

- Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (up to 25lbs. unassisted)

- Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain

- Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise

- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility required

- Occasional travel may be required to support projects at other sites (up to 15%)
