Mission Protection Analyst Job Locations US-CO-Colorado Springs Requisition ID 2026-166440 Position Category Aviation Systems Clearance Top Secret/SCI w/Poly Responsibilities As a Mission Protection Analyst supporting a national security program space warfighting mission, you are responsible for the safeguarding of protected data and enabling secured data-sharing between assigned personnel and mission partners.
You will ensure that ad hoc operational reports and routine data products are delivered timely , with adherence to authorized procedures, documented security policies and access restrictions.
Additionally, you will perform indications and warning (I&W) tool monitoring and orbital analysis to assess threats against mission assets and maintain space catalog accuracy.
A successful candidate will work closely with the engineering team, continually advancing system integration efforts for improved procedural and data processing efficiencies.
Mission Protection tasks include space object ephemeris screenings against space and terrestrial hazards and threats to mitigate risks to mission success.
Prior experience performing conjunction assessment (CA) or space defense operations is desired. I mplementation of mission protection strategies for daily operations and planning efforts Safeguard protected data while fulfilling internal/external product and data requests Development TTPs, COAs and work to improve thresholds for checklist entry criteria Assist system integration efforts of latest I&W software tools and capabilities Detect threat activity and maintain accurate terrestrial and space catalog databases Collaborate with leadership , external partners, and development teams; participate in meetings and briefings , as required for mission data sharing and planning efforts Analyze various satellite state position data sources report on vulnerabilities and threats to mission and/or assets Prioritize and execute collection tasking & management using available asset resources Support training , documentation and exercise efforts, as required Perform conti nuity of operations tasks and ensure continued safety of flight Work full-time on-site at a government facility in Colorado Springs, CO ***This position is contingent upon award of contract*** Qualifications 5 + years ' combined experience working in space defense operation s , utilizing flight safety tools or in tegrating rel ated I &W systems with bachelor's degree in related field ; 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree; 3 + years' relevant experience with MS in related field Active TS/SCI with adjudicated Poly Preferred: 2+ years' combined experience with STK, DSS, SPADOC, ATLAS or ASW systems 4 + years of combined experience performing Mission Protection in orbital analyst, flight safety analyst (CA) , battlespace awareness (BSA) , or satellite mission planner roles 2+ years assigned National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) or partnered IC organizations Experience navigating large data repositories and fulfilling Requests for Information (RFIs ) U nderstanding of orbital mechanics, flight safety tools a nd I&W s ystems K nowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground threat capabilities and space surveillance networks with prior experience in tasking space surveillance resources Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
