Full job description

The Role The Manufacturing Engineer, Production is essential in ensuring robust production support and facilitating the scaling of manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for integrating new customer technical expectations seamlessly into the factory's capabilities, supporting the transition from low-rate to high-volume production, and spearheading the adoption of new automated production assets and software enhancements.

- Ensure strict adherence to paperwork and customer requirements for quality and compliance

- Interpret customer drawings and specifications, translating requirements into shop floor work instructions and inspection criteria

- Lead quality planning activities during NPI, including control plans, FAI documentation, and first article reporting

- Onboard new customers, ensuring the factory's technical capabilities meet their expectations

- Assist in work prioritization and triage during peak production periods to maintain workflow efficiency

- Own problem solving and disposition of production defects, drive root cause problem solving to impact yield and rework rates

- Maintain auditable production methods, ensuring documentation and processes are inspection-ready at all times

- Support and conduct internal audits, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions to closure

- Lead the factory's transition from low-rate to high-volume manufacturing, identifying and implementing necessary changes in processes and infrastructure

- Onboard new automated production assets, collaborating with software engineering to drive improvements in software products that support manufacturing processes

- Adapt shop floor structure and processes to accommodate high-volume production needs

- Create production processes in unstructured areas of our operational system

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another related STEM field and 4-6 years of engineering experience in a production environment

- In lieu of a degree, at least 5-6+ years of experience in a high-intensity production environment may be considered

- Familiarity with machining operations and experience working with very tight tolerances, especially in aerospace manufacturing

- Familiarity with NPI frameworks (PPAP, FAI, or equivalent)

- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

- 5+ years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment

- Experience supporting or leading internal audits in a regulated manufacturing environment

- Demonstrated experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

- Experience applying software approaches (SQL, VBA, Python, etc.)

For this role, the target salary range is $89,000 - $145,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
