Job Summary The Business Systems Analyst gathers business requirements and translates them into functional and technical requirements within the appropriate application systems, in some cases serving as a technical liaison between the IT development team and the business community. Analysis and configuration of application systems, modifying existing systems to improve workflow or to serve new purposes is critical in this role.
Incumbent is responsible for ensuring functionality, user acceptance and effective implementation of changes is met to solve problems, achieve business requirements and improve system performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Management or related field. In lieu of degree, five (5) years' health related non-clerical experience with an insurance, managed care, healthcare or technology related organization will be considered.
Minimum five (5) years' business solutions analysis experience with a complex system technology. OR applicable Masters in related field with minimum three (3) years’ experience.
Proficiency working with rational databases, structured system programming and coding schemes, Structured Query language, object-oriented programming (Microsoft Access or Visual Basic), systems development life cycle application, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) required.
Project management experience.
Possess in-depth knowledge of insurance technology business solutions such as claims processing, marketing, membership, enrollment, customer service, financial and provider systems.
Demonstrated innovation in identifying, proposing and overseeing the execution of business solutions.
Ability to build collaborative relationships.
Ability to interpret complex documentation.
Ability to use query tools such as SQL.

2.1 General Office Worker, Semi-Active, Campus Travel - Someone who normally works in an office setting or remotely, periodically has lifting and carrying requirements up to 40 lbs and routinely travels for work within walking distance of location of primary work assignment as essential functions of the job.
