The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in fire prevention engineering, with a focus on industrial settings.</p><p>
Requirements:</p><ul> <li>Vaccination against Covid-19 strongly preferred.</li> <li>Part-time/temporary position.</li> <li>Pay Rate: $40.00 - $65.00 Per Hour (commensurate with experience).</li> </ul><p>
Responsibilities:</p><ul> <li>Assess industrial facilities for fire hazards, vulnerabilities, and risks.</li> <li>Design and develop tailored fire protection systems, including suppression, detection, and alarm systems.</li> <li>Collaborate with consultants, architects, engineers, and facility managers to integrate fire protection systems seamlessly into project design and construction phases.</li> <li>Stay updated on the latest fire protection technologies, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance.</li> <li>Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessment, developing appropriate mitigation measures.</li> <li>Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and drawings related to fire protection systems.</li> <li>Provide technical support during the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems.</li> <li>Collaborate with regulatory authorities and insurance companies for compliance, permits, and certifications.</li> <li>Conduct inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness of fire protection measures.</li> <li>Perform other assigned duties.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p></p><p>Desired Competencies:</p><ul> <li>Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships within a matrix reporting structure.</li> <li>Strong organizational and leadership skills.</li> <li>Ability to work in hazardous conditions and make decisions in emergency situations.</li> <li>Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.</li> </ul><p>Education/Experience:</p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field, or equivalent.</li> <li>FPE (Fire Protection Engineer) designation preferred.</li> <li>5 years of related experience.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and regulations.</li> <li>Knowledge of industrial processes and hazards is a plus.</li> <li>Experience in designing and implementing fire protection systems for industrial facilities.</li> </ul><p>Certification/Other Skills:</p><ul> <li>Ability to obtain DISA clearance.</li> <li>Ability to obtain TWIC clearance.</li> <li>Current driver’s license.</li> </ul><p>Physical Demands:</p><ul> <li>Sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds.</li> <li>Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and crawling.</li> <li>Long hours involving overtime and weekends as necessary.</li> <li>Keyboarding/typing, ability to read effectively from a computer screen or paper copy.</li> <li>Handling a large volume of work in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Frequent, unscheduled travel for extended periods.</li> <li>Ability to drive non-commercial vehicles.</li> <li>Rarely may work shifts of up to 24 hours.</li> </ul><p>Work Environment:</p><ul> <li>Works in an office environment when not deployed on an emergency response.</li> <li>Works outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions.</li> <li>May work at altitudes greater than 5000 feet above sea level.</li> <li>May work on land, sea, or air.</li> <li>May work in settings with potential physical and chemical hazards.</li> <li>Frequent, extended travel.</li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Industry Competitive Benefits!</p>
