The Payments Core team within Coinbase's Platform product group owns the heart of how fiat money moves at Coinbase, processing hundreds of billions of dollars annually across 15+ payment methods in 30+ countries. As the Group Product Manager for Payments Core, you'll own the product vision and multi-year strategy for Coinbase's payment processing infrastructure, driving processing optimization, cost efficiency, and global expansion.
This is a high-impact IC leadership role for a seasoned payments expert.
- Own the end-to-end product roadmap for Payments Core, encompassing core payment processing, payment method integrations (ACH, cards, bank transfers), multi-partner infrastructure, and payment lifecycle management.
- Drive optimization of payment processing success rates, least-cost routing, and transaction efficiency to directly improve Coinbase's revenue and customer experience across its global footprint.
- Lead the strategy and execution for multi-partner payments infrastructure, enabling processing partner routing, redundancy, and failover to maximize reliability and cost efficiency.
- Partner with Engineering to shape system architecture and technical investments that drive scalability, resilience, and adaptability across Payments Core's platform.
- Build self-serve capabilities that enable Product Groups to leverage Payments Core without heavy integration overhead, unblocking growth across Coinbase's product surface.
- Shape Payments Core's long-term strategy for emerging payment methods, real-time payment networks, and evolving regulatory landscapes.
- 10+ years of product management experience, with deep expertise in payments infrastructure, payment processing, or fintech platforms.
- Track record of owning and driving multi-year platform strategies that delivered measurable improvements in processing success rates, cost efficiency, or global payment coverage.
- Deep technical fluency in payment systems architecture, processing flows, multi-partner routing, payment method economics, interchange optimization, and the regulatory landscape for payments across major markets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in highly regulated environments, driving alignment across engineering, finance, compliance, and business stakeholders, and articulating platform strategy and investment tradeoffs to executive leadership.
